I normally wear a regular width size 11 in asics. I had to go up to 11 1/2 2E for these shoes to work for me, I do not like them as much as the old GT 2170s they replaced. To me they seem less supportive than the GT 2170. Asics has cost me a lot of money sending back shoes d/t changing the width and support of their shoes.

Coming from three pairs of the previous generation GT 2000, Ive noticed a few differences.First, they changed the last dimensions a bit. This shoe is meant for narrower feet than previous 2000s. The ball and toe box are much more cramped, occasionally causing some additional friction between toes as they rub into each other a bit more. Theres definitely no "toe splay" when youre in the propulsive phase of your stride.Second, the sole has been noticeable stiffened. At first, I didnt like it since it seems to take way from foot feel. However, I have noticed I consciously work harder at a more disciplined foot fall rather than "rolling" through a low-angle heel strike (heel-striking will now cause you to "slap" your toes down harder if youre used to the previous 2000s). Health/fitness-wise this is an improvement for me, but was initially uncomfortable. Finally, I like the decision to lower the arch support a tad, and drop the heel. I have super-high arches, and used to favor more arch supp

All,Ive been looking for a good pair of running shoes, and these came up on a search I did for "best sneakers for heavy runners with low arches and over pronation".I am 5"8 200 lbs. While I am far from a marathon runner, I enjoy a 5K a few times a week. A few months back I developed planters fasciitis and had to stop for a while to heal. I decided it was time to go back, and took some time researching the shoes I should buy. I wasnt aware that there were shoes made specifically for heavy, flatfooted people like me. Turns out I was running in wrong shoes my entire life and the latest injury was the result of that. With all of that being said, I have to tell you that these may be the best shoes I have ever ran in. My feet didnt hurt, and still dont, after multiple 5Ks. Ive been an avid New Balance customer but these have just won me over.I am a US 9 in NB, and these fit the same.TL;DR - I am 41 years old, 5"8, 200lbs, flatfooted and over pronate. These are the best shoes i have even ran i
